While visiting beautiful Lexington, KY for Fortune Fest 2010 I have managed to edit a few of the recent senior sessions that I had in Lexington, NC. Wow! These seniors at SMCS are all so beautiful! I wish I had more to show but I have been so amazed by Fortune Fest that I have not had much time to spend on my photography. It is a wonderful feeling to be surrounded by thousands of positive, motivated people. So inspiring! Thanks again Susan Frank for sharing this amazing opportunity!!
Here are a few of the sneak peeks:

Wow! After traveling for 2 weeks I am finally back in New Bern. I think I will need another vacation after getting unpacked and caught up on so many wonderful sessions. During my travels to Lexington and Myrtle Beach I had many sessions planned along the way. That's right, I had to work while on vacation!
Here are just a few of my favorites!
After the awesome senior sessions in Lexington we then headed to Myrtle Beach for for more photos and some play time in the sand!
Then we headed home and immediately back to work again...
This sweet baby girl has changed so much since her newborn session! (click here)

Yes, this is one beautiful, intelligent, special girl. She is my niece! Can you tell that I just love her?? I was so excited and honored for her to drive hours to have me shoot her senior portraits this past weekend. I can't believe that she is going to graduate next year. Wow! I am starting to feel so old. She will be graduating from the same school that I did- Sheets Memorial Christian School! It was so great to see her and my sister. They even brought her friend and his mother along for his senior photos. What a long, hot weekend of photo shoots. It was amazing, I had such a fun time with all of them.
I told you she was beautiful! Be sure to check back later for a sneak peek of her friend's session!

This beautiful senior girl wanted her session to take place in historic downtown New Bern. I always love photographing sessions downtown, I never know how they will turn out. I usually just pick a place to meet and walk around randomly shooting. This session was planned that way as well. We met at her parents restaurant The Chelsea (one of my favorites in downtown New Bern) and walked and walked and walked all over town. I knew it was going to be very overcast but I had no idea how cold it was going to be. I think we picked to coldest day of the week to be wondering around downtown. She did a great job being beautiful in the cold. Thank goodness her mother brought coffee from the restaurant to warm me up. It was a cold evening but I had a great time walking around with these ladies getting to know them and a little New Bern history as well (thanks to her mom).
I know this big sister will really be missed when she goes away to college.

Anyone who knows me at all knows that 13 is my favorite number. It has been every since I was young and the really cool thing is that both of my children were born on the 13th. No, I did not plan that. I can truly say that 13 is my lucky number now!
I was so excited to shoot this Senior session. He wanted to do something different and really show what is important to him - baseball and fishing! We did not spend much time at the water because he was ready to get to the field. Once we got there I saw why he wanted to have his pictures taken on the field with his uniform - his #13 uniform!! I have never seen him pitch but I know he must be great after seeing his excitement and passion for this sport (and he is #13). I hope he keeps his room as perfect as that field. I have never seen someone care so much for a pile of dirt in the middle of a field before. I guess it is just a baseball thing??
Good luck to you #13. I wish you a great senior year and baseball season.

If you you still need senior portraits you have not missed your chance! Also, upcoming seniors need to be planning their senior portrait sessions soon. Call or email me to check for availability.
Graduation... What a bittersweet time in life, to know that you have already accomplished so much in life and then to realize that you are just starting out on a journey to find your place in this world. All seniors should be given a copy of Dr. Seuss' Oh, the Places You'll Go! My husband and I love reading that book and I Knew You Could by Craig Dorfman to our 3 year old son. These books are so good at showing us in a childlike way that we will always have some hard times and struggle through life, but that is what makes us who we are. We need to embrace the good and bad of our lives and remember where we came from and where we are trying to go.
Here are some recent photos from a senior session that I had over the weekend. What a wonderful young lady. I wish her the best with college and deciding what it is that she wants to do in her life. I had such a great time walking around New Bern with her and her mother. Hope you like these!
Have fun at the PROM and best wishes at your GRADUATION!!
