Here are a few favorites from a very, very cold Wrightsville Beach session:
Only need a few images to pick from for a holiday card? A mini holiday session will be perfect! The mini sessions will take place on a specific date and will all be at the same location. Each session will last for 20 minutes and will include 10 - 15 images to proof online and 50 folded or flat 5x7 cards printed on textured art paper. There will be several designs to pick from. With each mini session additional wall and gift prints will be 10% off. Mini sessions are for up to 4 people ($15 each additional person). Keep in mind that these sessions are very limited and will only last for 20 minutes. Larger families and those wanting more time and options with their session should consider a full custom session to get the most out of their experience.

I usually try to keep my photo editing to a very basic minimum to save time, but occasionally there are some photos that I like to play with and create something a bit more dramatic. This is when using actions in Adobe Photoshop CS2 really comes in handy. I have a few actions that I have purchased from other wonderfully talented photographers. I absolutely love Doug Boutwell's Totally Rad Action Mix. These actions help me create a dramatic look in no time at all. They have now created an awesome texture plugin called Dirty Pictures. Graduation... What a bittersweet time in life, to know that you have already accomplished so much in life and then to realize that you are just starting out on a journey to find your place in this world. All seniors should be given a copy of Dr. Seuss' Oh, the Places You'll Go! My husband and I love reading that book and I Knew You Could by Craig Dorfman to our 3 year old son. These books are so good at showing us in a childlike way that we will always have some hard times and struggle through life, but that is what makes us who we are. We need to embrace the good and bad of our lives and remember where we came from and where we are trying to go.
Here are some recent photos from a senior session that I had over the weekend. What a wonderful young lady. I wish her the best with college and deciding what it is that she wants to do in her life. I had such a great time walking around New Bern with her and her mother. Hope you like these!

Since moving to New Bern almost four years ago I have learned so much about the military and met so many wonderful military people. I have seen what these families go through to support our country and I truly respect and appreciate them. They give us so much and I try to support them by giving all military 10% off print orders and also photographing the return of a loved one from war at no cost (that is an AMAZING opportunity for me!). This year I am contributing to the 2009 Time, Talent and Treasure Auction and Wine Tasting. This auction is presented by the MCAS Cherry Point Officers' Spouses Club and will take place on Friday, March 13 at the Pit. The wine tasting will start at 6 pm and the live auction will follow at 7pm. What a fun night out and a great way to support our military!
