A SPECIAL DELIVERY

This was such a special newborn session for me! I was so excited when this Dad emailed me wanting to get maternity and newborn photos for his wife's anniversary gift.  I met this couple close to two years ago during their engagement session with me!  They were so much fun to photograph, every photo really showed their love and happiness together. 

Congratulations to this wonderful couple and their beautiful new baby boy!

TOTALLY RAD!

I usually try to keep my photo editing to a very basic minimum to save time, but occasionally there are some photos that I like to play with and create something a bit more dramatic.  This is when using actions in Adobe Photoshop CS2 really comes in handy.  I have a few actions that I have purchased from other wonderfully talented photographers.  I absolutely love Doug Boutwell's Totally Rad Action Mix.  These actions help me create a dramatic look in no time at all.  They have now created an awesome texture plugin called Dirty Pictures.  You can check this out on the new Totally Rad! blog.  Right now they are having a contest and will be giving away a set of the Dirty Pictures plugin.  I WANT IT!! (click on the links to check these Totally Rad actions out) 

This is a photo that I used the Totally Rad Actions on.  This combination of actions is one of my favorites.  I just love the vintage feel of this photo.

LITTLE BOY BUMP

Maternity sessions are always so much fun.  I love going into their homes and seeing all of the brand new baby gear tucked away in the corner of every room.  This always makes me remember how excited I was with both of my children.  I would sit and stare at that really cool stroller parked in my LIVING ROOM and dream about my baby (for months!).  This couple had their stroller parked in the DINING ROOM right by the table just waiting on their little boy to arrive.

BEACH BABY

I had a great time out on the beach with this family during their maternity session.  The weather worked out just perfect for us.  We were worried since we had to reschedule once already due to the weather.  I know this baby will definitely be a beach baby.  The beach is very much a part of their lives.  This is where his parents were engaged and the very spot that they said their vowels - how special!  I am looking forward to photographing him soon (I wish on the beach) and I know his big brother and sister are very excited to meet him.
